Final Neighborhood Narrative
Public spaces in neighborhoods should enable youth to hang out and have fun. Skateboarding is a hobby that many youth enjoy, but the lack of safe places to practice and meet other skateboarders prevents such a social space from being created. Talking with various community members, it appears as if there is public support for a skatepark to be constructed in West Philly. The ample amount of vacant lots in our area of the city provides a lot of potential for such resources to be brought to youth and the greater public.
